Academics · Both certificate programs

A certificate you earn on your schedule.

Every Quantum program is built from milestones you complete one at a time, at your pace, with a named instructor beside you. Here is how a milestone works and what surrounds it.

How it works

Five steps, every milestone

Same pattern from your first milestone to your capstone, so you always know what comes next.

1

Learn

Short recorded lessons, readings and a hands-on lab, available from day one.

2

Practice

A real deliverable in your own field, submitted to your instructor for feedback.

3

Prove it

A proctored exam with written answers, or a project graded on a published rubric.

4

Get support

Miss an attempt and you get a study plan for exactly what you missed, plus time with your instructor before the next one.

5

Move on

Pass, and the next milestone unlocks. Your track milestone and capstone close the program.

Your pace. You complete every milestone; how quickly depends on your experience, what you already know, and the hours you put in each week.

Three attempts. No retake fees. Ever.

Every exam and project includes three attempts. Need another? Complete a short study plan with your instructor and take it again. We'd rather you master it than pay for it.

  • Exams are proctored, in person in Arlington or by scheduled video
  • Projects are graded within days, with written feedback
  • You book assessments when you're ready, not on a calendar

Self-paced, never solo

A person who knows your name

A named instructor

Your instructor of record grades your work, checks in every two weeks, and approves your capstone.

Live classes every week

Evening and weekend sessions. Join live and ask questions, or watch the recording. Nothing blocks your progress.

Office hours by topic

Drop-in help organized by subject, so you get an expert on exactly what you're stuck on.

AI-augmented learning

Concept first. AI drafts. You verify.

How every technical topic is taught

  • Learn the concept before the tool, so you can judge what the tool gives you
  • Direct an AI assistant to produce the draft: code, a query, a formula, a test
  • Verify it against something you trust, then explain it in a review
  • A proctored no-AI checkpoint proves you can do it yourself

The tools you'll use

  • Everyone: ChatGPT and Claude, including file upload and data analysis; Jira and its AI features; GitHub
  • Digital Business: Excel and Google Sheets with their AI assistants; SQL against a real database; A dashboard and reporting tool; An automation platform for no-code workflows
  • Digital Engineering: VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code; JavaScript, HTML, CSS; Playwright, with a Selenium literacy session; Postman, SQL, GitHub Actions, Vercel
  • Responsible use is taught once, to everyone: what never goes into an AI tool, and how to disclose AI use

Getting started

Start on the first of any month

Apply and pick your date

Submit your application whenever you're ready and choose the month you'll begin.

2

Complete guided onboarding

Documents, enrollment agreement and payment, step by step, so nothing is left for day one.

3

Begin with everything ready

On your start date your materials, your instructor, the live-class calendar and your first milestone are waiting.

Questions

Questions people ask

How long does a program take?

You complete every milestone; how quickly depends on your experience, what you already know, and the hours you put in each week.

Do I have to attend classes at set times?

No, but live instruction is there for you every week. The required commitments are a short progress check every two weeks, proctored assessments you book when you're ready, and your capstone presentation.

Do I need a technical background?

No. Every program starts from a shared foundation that assumes nothing, and every technical topic is taught concepts first.

Do I need my own AI subscription?

You will need access to at least one AI assistant with file upload, and for Digital Engineering a coding assistant; free tiers are enough for the coding assistant. Admissions will confirm current requirements.

What do I finish with?

A SCHEV-recognized certificate naming your program and your specialization, a capstone built in your own field and defended to a faculty panel, and a portfolio you can show an employer.
