SMS Notifications Policy

Who we are

Quantum Institute of Science and Technology (operated by Bright Path Technology LLC, a Virginia limited liability company) sends SMS text-message notifications to customers and students who have provided their phone number and consented to receive messages. This page explains what we send, how often, what it costs you, and how to opt out at any time.

What we send

Depending on which Quantum service you use, you may receive SMS messages in the following categories:

  • Account services — one-time verification codes during signup or login, security notifications, and account updates for the Quantum Institute student portal.
  • Restaurant ordering — order confirmations, secure payment links, pickup-ready notifications, and order modification or cancellation links for restaurants using the Quantum restaurant ordering platform.
  • Future healthcare services — appointment reminders and portal notifications, only if you are a patient of a participating dental practice that uses Quantum's platform. Messages will never include protected health information (PHI) in the SMS body; they will direct you to the practice's secure patient portal.

How we obtain your consent

You opt in to receive SMS by (a) creating an account on a Quantum service and providing a phone number while consenting to the SMS notification checkbox, (b) placing an order through a participating restaurant's phone or web ordering flow and providing your phone number for transactional updates, or (c) requesting an SMS verification code for account login. We do not purchase phone numbers from third parties, and we do not send SMS to numbers that have not been provided to us directly by the recipient.

Message frequency

Frequency varies by service. Order-related transactional messages typically arrive two to three times per order (payment link, confirmation, pickup-ready notification). Verification codes are sent only when you request them. Appointment reminders are sent in line with the appointment cadence configured by the participating practice. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS unless you have separately opted in to a marketing list.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your wireless carrier and mobile plan. Quantum Institute does not charge a fee for SMS messages themselves; any cost is from your wireless provider.

How to opt out

You may opt out of further SMS at any time using any of these methods:

  • Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, END) to any SMS message you receive from us. We will stop sending further messages from that sender number immediately.
  • Email us at support@quantumai.education with the phone number you wish to opt out, and we will remove it from our SMS database within one business day.
  • Reply HELP (or INFO) to any SMS for assistance.

Opting out applies to the specific Quantum service that sent the SMS. For example, opting out of restaurant order updates from a participating restaurant does not opt you out of student-portal verification codes if you also have a Quantum student account. You can opt out of each independently.

Carrier and data handling

SMS messages are transmitted via Twilio Inc. (our communications provider) and US wireless carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and their affiliates). Once a message leaves our infrastructure, it travels on carrier networks. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. We retain SMS delivery metadata (timestamp, status, recipient phone number, message context) for operational, compliance, and audit purposes for up to four years; full message bodies are retained for up to 90 days and then redacted.

Restricted content

We do not send SMS messages containing content related to sex, hate, alcohol (including alcohol marketing), firearms, or tobacco (the “SHAFT” categories). Messages containing references to alcohol in the context of restaurant menu items may be sent to verified opted-in customers in compliance with carrier guidelines, but Quantum does not directly market alcohol.
